Survey: Health Practitioners Frequently Recommend Omega-3 Supplements

Omega-3s are on a roll. The website, Nutraceuticals World, reports that a new survey shows many health care practitioners routinely recommend omega-3 fatty acid supplements to their patients. The survey tracked 362 medical professionals from a wide range of disciplines, including conventionally trained medical doctors, naturopathic physicians, chiropractors, and others. A high number (88%) stated that they either always recommend omega-3s, or that they do so frequently. Heart health was the most common reason for recommending these supplements. However, practitioners also looked to omega-3s to help with inflammation, cognitive health, and joints.
