Flautas
Little fried tubes of heaven. Serve as an appetizer.
Ingredients
- 12 small corn tortillas
- 1 1/2 cups cooked meat (chicken works well, but any meat will do), shredded
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil for frying
- 1 cup lettuce, chopped
- 1/2 cup salsa
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Wrap tortillas in aluminum foil and heat in oven for 15 minutes.
- Once warm, place line of cooked meat in each tortilla. Roll tightly.
- Meanwhile, add ¼-inch oil to heavy-bottomed skillet and warm over medium heat.
- When oil is warm, fry tortilla rolls; turn them so they brown evenly and drain on paper towels.
- Garnish with lettuce, salsa, and sour cream.
