Simply Delicious Strawberry Frosting
A dead-simple buttercream frosting featuring bright, flavorful strawberries.
Ingredients
- 4 sticks unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup fresh whole strawberries, de-stemmed (or thawed if using frozen strawberries)
- 2 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 8 cups powdered sugar
Directions
- Purée the strawberries with a food processor and set aside.
- Using a mixer, beat softened butter until smooth.
- Add the strawberry purée, lemon juice, salt, and powdered sugar to the butter. Continue mixing until smooth and fluffy. If the frosting is too thick, add a little milk gradually until you get the right consistency. If it is too thin, add a little more powdered sugar.
- Pipe or spread frosting onto a cooled cake or cupcakes.
