Leucovorin

Uses
This medication is used to treat or prevent serious blood cell disorders (such as thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, anemia) caused by certain drugs (folic acid antagonists such as methotrexate, trimethoprim, pyrimethamine).
Leucovorin may also be used to treat low folate levels in the brain caused by a rare genetic condition (cerebral folate transport deficiency).
How to Use This Medication
Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor.
If you have difficulty swallowing the tablet, you may either crush the tablet and mix it in soft food or dissolve it in liquid (such as water, breast milk, infant formula) and take the mixture right away. Do not prepare a supply in advance.
The dosage is based on your medical condition, weight, body size, and response to treatment.
Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time(s) each day.
Tell your doctor if you are unable to take this medication because of nausea/vomiting. You may need to be switched to the injection form of this medication.
